Once you have established the basic speed for your boat, you can often achieve even more with a detailed analysis. By adjusting the rig and sails, small issues can be identified and corrected.
The mast curve in particular offers the opportunity to perfect the sails. On the Finn, for example, with an unstayed rig, a difference of just a few millimetres in the luff can often make all the difference.
The trimming options of the material are generally neglected too often in changing weather conditions. Using simple and practical methods, every sailor can get a handle on the basic settings of the boat.
